A practical relocating guide

Moving to Delaware, Ohio?

North of Columbus, with a walkable historic downtown and a growing Central Ohio economy. This site is for the city of Delaware, Ohio — not the state of Delaware. Del (our original guide buddy) is here to make the first months feel a little more like home.

Why Delaware

A county seat with character — and a Columbus commute.

Delaware sits on U.S. 23 with Ohio Wesleyan University, brick storefronts on Sandusky and Winter Streets, and newer neighborhoods toward the Polaris and Olentangy corridors. It is a city of its own: courthouse square energy, fairgrounds weekends, and neighbors who still wave on the sidewalk. Del’s tip: start downtown for coffee, then drive your real commute before you sign anything.

Why people look here

Historic core, north-of-Columbus access, still growing.

Historic core

Courthouse square energy, independent shops, Saturday market, and First Friday evenings. Start downtown if you want a walkable first month.

North of Columbus

Handy for jobs around Polaris, Lewis Center, and downtown Columbus. Drive times vary with U.S. 23 and I-71 — test your commute before you sign a lease.

Still growing

City economic development describes a mixed base: health services, manufacturing, retail, education, and transportation/logistics — not a one-industry town.
